Features

Add new students to your rota of students you are currently teaching as well view names and instruments of existing students

Our Student's tab allows you to view all your current students' full names as well as the instrument they are taking. It also enables you to add new students and immediately see them in your rota. It also allows you to view the lesson logs for each student.

View and edit existing lesson logs for lessons you have done previously or future lessons you are yet to cover.

Each lesson log has the following sections:

  Lesson time

  A lesson time section where you state what time the lesson will take place.
• 

  Lesson location

  A location section where you state the location of the class. Most tutors work in different schools or make house calls to different students' houses and as such, a location section is quite helpful.
• 

  Lesson plan section

  A lesson plan section where you outline what you intend to cover in that lesson. Techniques to be taught or content to be covered from a tutor book should be included here.
• 

  Lesson comments section

  A comments section where you can comment on how the lesson went and how the student responded to the content covered.
• 

  Homework section

  A homework section where you can outline any homework you assigned the student.

This project was inspired by my personal experience working as a trumpet peripatetic tutor in Nairobi. Most tutors work in numerous schools and have multiple private lessons and as need a centralised place to keep track of all their students' progress.

The 'Peri Planner App' is meant to help tutors keep track of all their students' details and lesson progress in one place, ragardless of which school they are from or whether they are private students or not. Enabling online access also means that one can access their lesson logs from anywhere in the world

The 'Peri Planner App' was developed in three weeks by Eugene Joe Muthui, covering both front-end, backend and deployment.
